Located in the original 1904 Refreshment Room at Cartwright Hall Art Gallery, our café is a calm, light space to take a break during your visit. The historic setting is matched with a modern, welcoming café environment.
We serve coffee, handmade cakes and light snacks, with vegan and gluten‑free options available.

Family friendly café
The Refreshment Room is breastfeeding friendly and welcomes families. Facilities include:
- Child‑sized tables
- Activity sheets
- Buggy parking
- Highchairs and bottle warmers
We are accredited by Kids in Museums, meeting their Family Friendly Café Standard. This means we provide a safe, welcoming and practical space for families visiting the gallery. A children’s menu is available (see boards in the café).
