Cliffe Castle Museum

The Lions Den (Men’s Shed)

The Lion’s Den Shed is a peer to peer support group, based in Cliffe Castle Park,  and part of the wider Mens Shed initiative.  It addresses health and wellbeing by drawing attendees together around shared activities

In the Lion’s Den, those activities include woodwork, horticulture and fish keeping –  the attendees decide what they want to do and the range is gradually increasing.

During  ‘lockdown’, the group created activities that could be done at home  –  painting,  books, model kits and crafts.

In this display we are showcasing a selection of items made by the ‘Shed’  members.  Some are ‘lockdown projects’, created during the recent restrictions, whilst others are example of normal shed activities.  There’s also images of various community projects the group have been involved in.

For more information on the ‘Shed’, they can be contacted for more information, through their FaceBook page: The Lions Den – Shed, Cliffe Castle or by e.mailing nalla105c@yahoo.co.uk or phoning 07903044060
