Bradford District Museum & Galleries

English for Everyone Volunteer

At Bradford Museums and Galleries, you will see museum volunteers at all four venues. Some of our volunteers are participating in a museums’ English for Everyone volunteering programme developed in partnership with Skills House Bradford. You will see new faces, speaking languages from all over the world. Museums’ E4E volunteers participate in many of the museum volunteer roles and come from places such as Cambodia, Latvia, Sudan, The Gambia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Brazil, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Nigeria, Libya.

English for Everyone volunteers ensure that our spaces are welcoming to everyone in the Bradford district whilst improving their English and gaining new skills. Throughout the year they meet bi-monthly, take mini-trips to all Bradford civic museums and an annual trip to another city to find out what other museums, galleries and libraries have to offer. With our work in this area, funded by Arts Council England we are working towards gaining our Museums of Sanctuary status.
