Cliffe Castle Museum

Local Human Geography

In this session, the students will investigate the physical and human factors that have contributed to the continuously changing landscape of Keighley and the surrounding areas throughout history.

They will learn how, over millions of years, plate tectonics and climate change have impacted on the local geography and, more recently, how and why humans have transformed the landscapes and used local resources to their advantage in boosting the growth of local industries.

The activities in this workshop provide opportunities for students to practise their map reading, observation and comparison skills in the context of the local area.
