Cliffe Castle Museum

Stone Age to Iron Age

In a workshop bursting with artefacts, handling objects, gallery exploration and active learning, young archaeologists will step into Prehistoric Bradford with opportunities to practise a range of skills as they investigate the Stone, Bronze, and Iron Ages.

Pupils will begin by creating a timeline to understand more about the chronology of the human civilisation. Observing the development of a range of tools, we will dig a little deeper into the three distinct eras of the Stone Age.

Learners will discover how the first people lived by getting hands on with exciting activities to explore and deepen their knowledge of these fascinating periods of the earliest human history.

Activities include

  • Creating clothing
  • Recovering, identifying and sorting objects from an archaeological dig
  • Making archaeological predictions, and observations.

You can book teacher led add-on activities to link to this workshop to create a whole day package.
