Students recap existing knowledge of Igneous, Sedimentary and Metamorphic rocks and how they are formed.
They are introduced to the rock cycle and investigate the processes involved in the ever-changing landscape of rocks on our earth. Like true geologists, their observation skills are put to the test as they learn to classify different rocks based on a wide range of characteristics.
Students investigate the differences between rocks and minerals in our fantastic minerals gallery. They explore the different qualities of minerals from our handling collection, observing and testing the hardness, colour, lustre and streak of a range of different minerals.
