Spiders – Work from Keighley Healthy Living

We are absolutely delighted to be able to show a range of arts works painted by Art Group members of Keighley Healthy Living at Cliffe Castle Museum.

Before the pandemic began, there were 4 classes of all abilities who met to create art in a fun and chatty atmosphere under the guidance of the tutor, Victoria Alderson.

During Lockdown the Classes went on-line and the response has been overwhelmingly positive, strengthening friendships and bonds despite the obvious barriers.

The groups have still been painting weekly by means of YouTube videos (made by Victoria) meeting virtually on Zoom and even sharing and celebrating their work on WhatsApp.

Inspired by our new display on Spiders in the Natural Sciences Gallery at Cliffe Castle, they have created an interesting range of paintings and drawings based on the theme.

Keighley Healthy Living is a charity aiming to support the health and wellbeing of the local community. The vision of their organisation is to develop ‘a strong and thriving local community that is resilient, capable and healthy and where people are well connected to each other’.

The charity provides a variety of groups and services related to health and wellbeing to meet this vision.

You can find out more about Keighley Healthy Living via their website and if you would like to know more about the art classes, you can also email Victoria , the Art Tutor.
