Cliffe Castle Museum

Together We Can

The ‘Together We Can’ exhibition is the result of a creative writing competition between 300 of Keighley’s young people.

The project, funded by Bradford Council’s #response2 small grants programme, was created by Keighley Creative to reinspire students who spent a large portion of the last year homeschooling.

100 pupils from each of Keighley’s three secondary schools (University Academy Keighley, Holy Family and Beckfoot Oakbank) were given two activity booklets – one featuring a painting of a room in Cliffe Castle and the other an aerial view of Keighley looking out over the old mills. Students were then given prompts, tips and advice on how to use these images as inspiration for their stories and poems.

We’re delighted to be able to display some of their work at Cliffe Castle – you  can also find some at thee Keighley Creative Gallery on Hanover Street and at Keighley Library on North Street.
