Between 1860 and 1900 Keighley had over a dozen photography studios dotted around the town
Tim Neal, from the Keighley and District Local History Society and who works at the National Science and Media Museum in Bradford, will be joining us at Cliffe Castle to talk about what was involved and about some of the individual studios, with lots of examples of the people of Keighley looking their best during the Victorian era!
BOOKING ESSENTIAL. Please call 01535 618231 or email cliffe.castle@bradford.gov.uk
This talk is brought to you as part of the Photo-synthesis project. Led by Keighley Photo Hub’s award winning Lisa Holmes, Photosynthesis upholds Keighley’s historic love of photography by guiding local groups through the process of using plants to create eco-friendly anthotype images.
You can see these when they go on display in Cliffe Castle’s glasshouses later this year.
