The 1st August is Yorkshire day! Every year a different town or city in the county is chosen to host the Civic Celebrations by the Yorkshire Society – and this year Keighley are the proud hosts! To celebrate this fact, even though it’s a Monday, we’re opening up Cliffe Castle for the day.
There will be drop in family activities for visitors to try – you can make your very own tissue-paper ‘White rose of Yorkshire’ or see how many Yorkshire roses you can find around the castle. Plus of course, Cliffe Castle is full of stories about Keighley and Yorkshire, so why not find out a bit more about some of them?
We’ve also got live music playing in the Bracewell Smith Hall from midday for our visitors to enjoy as they explore the museum.
