Cartwright Hall Art Gallery

Come and join us at our “Traditions” Family Day to Celebrate the new “Plants of the Quran” exhibition and Gypsy Traveller “Dream and Songs to Sing” exhibition.
It includes:
Performance of “Queenie and the Pooka” by Spin Arts
This mesmerising tale uses dance, music and object theatre to capture the imaginations of big and little kids alike.
Performance times are:

11-11.45am
1-1.45pm

This takes place in the panelled gallery upstairs. Suitable for families/ all ages. Free.

Collaborative art piece- Design a Vardo
11am-3pm
This takes places in the gallery with the Gypsy Traveller Exhibition.
Drop in. Free. Suitable for families.
Meet Sue Wickison
1.30am-1.30pm
Meet the artist from “plants of the Quran” at our draw – along session. Grab some pencils/ colours and have a go at sketching herbs and plants in the Magic Room.

After the draw along session, Sue Wickison will then be doing a book signing at 1.30pm, with copies of “Plants of The Qur’an to purchase.
Learning Room Activities 11am –12.30pm and 1.30pm- 3pm
Mix your own henna paste and make a henna design or make a scented herb posy to take home.
This takes place in our learning room, and is a drop in activity
You can also pick up a self- led trail and explore plants in our collections.

Cartwright Hall Art Gallery is in the middle of Lister Park, one and a half miles from the City Centre on the A650 Manningham Lane. There is limited parking in Lister Park, accessible from North Park Road (off Oak Lane). Lister Park is served by many city centre bus services including 23, 25, 26, 49, 51, 52, 53, 54, 622, 647, 662, w5. Cartwright Hall is about ten minutes’ uphill walk from Frizinghall railway station.
