About this event

All Day –
Cliffe Castle Museum

We’re thrilled to be a part of a celebration of transport taking place throughout Keighley across the Jubilee bank holidays. ‘In Motion’, the Keighley Transport Festival, is taking place on the 2nd and 3rd June 2022.
There are all sorts of shows and exhibitions scheduled for around the town. You can read more about the whole event on the website (https://keighley-in-motion.co.uk/)
Other venues for the transport festival include: Leeds & Liverpool Canal,  East Riddlesden Hall, Keighley Bus Museum, Keighley College, Keighley and Worth Valley Railways and more.
There’s a free circular bus service being laid on to get you between the venues – so visitors are encouraged to come by public transport to the festival and leave their cars at home.  Alternatively, there is parking in the town at the Airedale Centre and Scott Street Car park.
In the museum we have some transport-themed activities for you to take and do at home.  On display in our Bracewell Smith Hall will be the Motorbike ridden by Sir Captain Tom Moore on display in the Bracewell Smith Hall, temporarily brought over from Bradford Industrial Museum for the festival.  On the 3rd of June, you can enjoy the sounds of the Steeton Male Voice Choir.
Outside in the park, you can enjoy looking at the fine vintage vehicles being displayed by Craven Old Wheels, listen out for the sounds of a Brass Band, or admire a Horse-drawn Black Maria. On the 3rd of June you will also be able to enjoy a range of outdoor activities for children including inflatables, a climbing tower, dance, arts and crafts.
There will be ‘take away and do’ activities which will include a transport themed ‘6 marvellous things’. There will also be an assortment of colouring sheets to take away, and a ‘bag of inspiration’ that’s transport themed.
