About this event

Bolling Hall Museum
  • Storytelling all day long with the library volunteers.
  • Volunteer Gardeners– Halloween Hyacinth bulb planting pots to take home. Decorate the pots in a spooky style first.
  • Fairies Wardrobe– get your little witches/warlock face paint.  Your favourite magical book characters will be visiting too! Look out for the garden gazebo of magic.
  • Meet Frances Tempest:  It’s 1642 and Frances, as mistress of the Bolling Hall House, would protect herself & her family by always having 2 Flintlock Pistols at the ready, “keeping her powder dry” under her apron. Frances will give you a tour of her home.  (volunteer Sheila Lansdell).
  • Spot our ghostly characters around the garden and house, they might give you a jump scare!
  • Bradford School of Art students will be showing their magical make up skills.
  •  The Case of the Cheeky Boggart – he’s been causing havoc at the museum by placing one everyday item in each room.  Can you spot them all?

All finished off in the museum gardens with pop-up cafe is ‘Cup of Kin’  – grab a Halloween hot chocolate and homemade cake.  Try frightful combinations of flavours!  If it’s nice, enjoy the outside, if it’s a bit chilly, you can sit in the cold kitchen (which isn’t that cold!)

The event is suitable for all the family, children must be accompanied by an adult. The event is free, but donations on a pay as you feel basis are always welcome to cover the costs of activities by our volunteers.
