Turner Prize Volunteer

We’re teaming up with Tate to bring the Turner Prize to Bradford.

The world’s most exciting visual arts prize is coming to Bradford for the first time.

The annual Turner Prize showcases and celebrates the most exciting new developments in British art. In the year the UK celebrates the 250th anniversary of JMW Turner’s birth, the Turner Prize heads to Bradford.

The shortlisted artists’ work will be presented at Cartwright Hall Art Gallery, with the winner announced on 9th December 2025.

 

Shift Description:
Volunteers will support the smooth running of the Turner Prize exhibition through a variety of roles:

  • Ticketing & Scanning: Checking and scanning tickets, directing visitors to the galleries, and assisting with queue management.
  • Welcome Experience Volunteers: Offering a warm and friendly welcome, providing information about the exhibition and Bradford 2025, and assisting with visitor queries.
  • Gallery Support Volunteers: Monitoring gallery spaces, engaging with visitors, ensuring guidelines are followed, and supporting invigilators and staff.
  • Evaluation Volunteers: Collecting visitor feedback through surveys and conversations to help evaluate the exhibition’s impact.
  • Access Support Volunteers: Assisting visitors who may require additional support, including disabled visitors, families, and those with access needs.

 

Dress Code/Uniform:

  • Bradford 2025 volunteer uniform – provided.
  • Layers recommended, as galleries may vary in temperature.

 

Special Instructions or Additional Information:

  • Snacks will be provided during shifts.
  • Volunteers should arrive on time for briefing and role allocation.
  • Breaks will be scheduled by the shift leader.
  • Please notify the volunteer management team in advance if you are unable to attend a booked shift.
