About this event

3 September 2025 10:30 am – 3 September 2025 10:30 am
Cartwright Hall Art Gallery, The Beacon (in the park)

After two amazing play sessions in The Beacon, we decided to wrap up this summer with ‘Art and Play Family Day’ at The Beacon in Lister Park!

On Wednesday, 3rd September, from 10.30 until 12.30, have a go at different art techniques – for little artists and their grown-ups. Try clay modelling, mark making, and natural art. There will also be the opportunity to recreate David Hockney’s swimming pool using collage, create abstract sculptures, and discover cardboard architecture. What a great introduction to the Turner Prize and reopening of the Cartwright Hall in September!

The session is open to all families with children aged 0–5, and it’s completely free.
