Tuesdays 8th, 15th and 22nd August, 10:30am to 1pm
FREE, lunch provided.
Bradford Museums and Galleries would like to invite Bradford writers to attend  writing workshops on Tuesdays 8th, 15th and 22nd August, 10:30am to 1pm. Using the museum for inspiration, the workshops will cover short stories and poetry and all writers will be considered for entry in an upcoming publication.
The competition invites applicants to submit poetry and short stories by August 30th 2023. The entries will then be shortlisted, with a first, second and third prize.
Entries can be sent to Bradford Cares Writing Competition | Karolia Creatives
The work will be presented in an anthology called In the Blink of an Eye which will be sold later in the gallery shop.
Under 16s must be accompanied by a guardian.
Don’t worry if you can’t make it to the morning workshop, our resident volunteer and writer Mariyam Karolia will be available during the afternoon for writers to drop in, until 3.30pm.
These are FREE sessions, booking essential on: bradfordcares@karoliacreatives.co.uk
In addition to this resident writer,  Mariyam welcomes children’s homes to host in-home workshops, where she will deliver writing sessions dependent on the children’s ages.
As part of the final project Mariyam is also keen for people to share home videos of Bradford from the past 30 years, upon which the writing could be sound tracked. These can be submitted to bradfordcares@karoliacreatives.co.uk.
Supported by Bradford Museums and Galleries and funded by Arts Council England.
