As part of the Bradford Care Association and Bradford District Museums and Galleries Creative Connecting and Contemporary Reminiscence Programme, photographer Louise Rayner visited care homes and community centres across Bradford, photographing people of all ages who draw upon care and support.
The project originated from Elderthorpe Residential Home, where Louise photographed people holding an object that means a lot to them or represents an important part of their lives. These portraits inspired other care providers to take part and are reflected in the memories and stories of the diverse lives of people accessing care in Bradford.
This exhibition was funded by the Bradford 2025 Creative Health Social Prescribing awards, creating opportunities for more people who draw upon care and support to access collections, activities, events and green spaces at each of our Museums.
It is currently on display in the Cafe Gallery at Bradford Industrial Museum
