English Civil War, 1642 – 1649. Bolling Hall was the temporary Royalist Headquarters after winning a great battle against the Parliamentarians under Oliver Cromwell, the Battle of Adwalton Moor (near Bradford) June 1643.
Frances, as mistress of the house, would protect herself & her family by always having 2 Flintlock Pistols at the ready, “keeping her powder dry” under her apron.
Every Sunday, 11am to 3.30pm, FREE.
No need to book. Just drop in.
Please call in advance if travelling far on 01274 431826. Frances can be called away due to English Civil War issues.

Bolling Hall is situated on Bowling Hall Road one mile south of Bradford City Centre and is signposted with heritage ‘brown signs’ from A650 Wakefield Road.
From Bradford City Centre, the 635 bus departs from bus stops City Park A on Prince’s Way, Rawson Square H on John Street, and Little Germany Y on Vicar Lane (alight at Bowling Hall Road).
