Come join Rhian Kempadoo-Millar, visual artist and designer, to create carnival headpieces inspired by the theme of International Women’s Day 2024 Inspire Inclusion.
We will be creating headpieces using colours, textures and inspiration from Bradford Industrial Museum’s textile collection as well as themes relating to International Women’s Day around global activism and celebration.
Bring your ideas and creativity – materials provided. Family drop in session – no booking required.
Rhian Kempadoo-Millar is Bradford District Museums and Galleries’ Guest Curator/Artist, supported using public funding by Arts Council England. Rhian is working on a research project exploring the Designated Worsted Collection and the hard work of the diverse communities that made the district internationally significant. Rhian’s research and creative response will lead to an exhibition or reinterpretation of the permanent textile displays at Bradford Industrial Museum, drawing out the worsted collection’s contemporary relevance and significance.
This is event is part of Weave and Spin event: celebrate International Women’s Day and Mother’s Day at the mill.

Signposted from Bradford Ring Road and Harrogate Road (A658). Bus 645 from Market Street or Hall Ings. All buses stop at Moorside Road. On the museum site there is free car parking and disabled car parking.
From Bradford City Centre, the 660 bus departs from Drake Street stop D1, (alight at Moorside Road), and the 645 departs from Hall Ings stop H11, (alight at Harrogate Road then an approx 10 min walk).
