Join us to celebrate 50 years of Bradford Industrial Museum – the first Local Authority-run Industrial Museum in the country!

Step back in time to 1974, with a weekend full of things to see and do:

Saturday Stallholders
4eveRetro – Retro Toys & Apparel – Vintage and collectable toys, gifts and games
GEMS Jewellery & Accessories – handmade jewellery items
• Tim Wood Record Stall – range of vinyl records
Saturday Entertainment:
Christopher and the Robins – vintage vocal trio performing a range of 70’s hits
• Caroline Mendelsohn – vintage portrait photographer. Spaces limited, sign up on the day
Sunday Stalls:
4eveRetro – Retro Toys & Apparel -Vintage and collectable toys, gifts and games
Vintage-Beau vintage fashion and homeswares
• Tain Rose – handmade Jewellery items
Sunday Entertainment:
Chiragi Solanki Chiragi’s British Indian Bollywood Arts (BIBAs) will be demonstrating Bollywood dancing. Audience members will be able to take part and learn some moves.
Both days:
509 Arts will be featuring their project “Lost Mills and Ghost Mansions”.
Bradford Model Engineering Society will have a stall with models and info about the society.
Our own Weaving and Printing volunteers will be demonstrating their skills.
The Belle Vue selfie station will be set up in the back to backs for people to take their own 70’s style studio selfies.
DJ Marf will be spinning a range of 70’s tunes throughout the weekend.
There will be retro board games and family activities in the horse emporium, along with street games set up in the paddock area for people to play.
Cypriana Street Food and The Coffee Box UK will be providing delicious food and hot drinks over the weekend and joined by Saltaire Belle gourmet burger van on the Sunday. And there will be a traditional ice-cream cart for sweet frozen treats.

This event will also form part of our offer for the national Heritage Open Days scheme.

Heritage Open Days is England’s largest community led festival of history and culture, involving thousands of local volunteers and organisations. Every year in September it brings people together to celebrate their heritage, community and history. Stories are told, traditions explored, and histories brought to life. It’s your chance to see hidden places and try out new experiences – and it’s all FREE.

By car

Signposted from Bradford Ring Road and Harrogate Road (A658). Bus 645 from Market Street or Hall Ings. All buses stop at Moorside Road. On the museum site there is free car parking and disabled car parking.

By public transport

From Bradford City Centre, the 660 bus departs from Drake Street stop D1, (alight at Moorside Road), and the 645 departs from Hall Ings stop H11, (alight at Harrogate Road then an approx 10 min walk).
