Up and Away: Rural landscapes in C. H. Wood’s aerial photography
25 January - 1 November 2020
Bradford Industrial Museum
Using the crystal clear aerial photographs taken by Bradford photographer C. H. Wood, this exhibition explores the green and pleasant land beyond Bradford from above. Before drones to take aerial photographs, C. H. Wood mastered the art of taking aerial photographs by combining his passion for flying and photography.
Bradfordians have always appreciated the rural landscape around the city, utilising it for agriculture, outdoor pursuits and leisure activities. However, as transport improved and people travelled further afield, they began to enjoy what other locations had to offer.
Though the scenes shown in these photographs will be familiar, looking at them from above gives a new, fascinating perspective.
