Leicester South (GC)

Leicester South is a multi-award winning layout built to a scale of 4mm to one foot and to OO gauge. It is modelled on an actual location a few hundred yards south of Leicester Central station, on the former Great Central Railway, as it was in British Railway’s days between 1948 and 1963. This period spans ownership of the line by both the Eastern and London Midland regions which, with various inter-regional trains, saw coaching stock from all four BR regions, plus a good mix of goods and parcels stock. Locomotives were also varied with former LNER, LMS, GWR and BR standard types. An unusual feature are the working wagon-turntables at both ends of the goods shed.
