A major, new retrospective for Smallfilms' cult creations.
Celebrate the magical worlds of The Clangers and Bagpuss which are explored in a new exhibition opening on 4 August 2018 at Cartwright Hall Art Gallery. Created by Oliver Postgate and Peter Firmin, and filmed in a barn in rural Kent, these characters brought new life to children's television.
From Watch with Mother in the 1960s to 21st century CBeebies, Smallfilm's endearing characters and captivating imaginary worlds have been staples of children's television across the globe.
Meet Hannah Fleming, Senior Curator, Museum of Childhood, V&A and Steve Hartley, Director of Place, Bradford Metropolitan District Council.
Refreshments provided. Artifaces professional face painting will be on hand for your space theme, dragon, cat, mouse, toad or ragdoll design! Plus some magical balloon modelling too.
There is a small £2 charge into the exhibition. All welcome.
