Visitors will get a chance to explore virtually the Victorian horse cabmen’s shelter originally located on Darley Street in Bradford.

We’ve very pleased to be able to offer the chance to explore an original Victorian Cabmen’s shelter from Bradford, in conjunction with Crich Tramway museum.

The shelter was originally at the top of Darley Street in Bradford, and subsequently moved to the entrance of Exchange Railway Station, itself demolished in 1973. The shelter was donated to Crich Tramway Museum by the Bradford Taxi Association, who were responsible for it, early in 1973, to save it from likely demolition.

Following a restoration project, the shelter was scanned digitally, and Crich Tramway museum are keen to share the results with Bradford.

You’ll also get a chance to handle objects from the period and understand what it would have been like to experience the shelter in use.
