Come and join us at the museum on Saturday 3rd December 2022 for a recital and informal talk to find out more about musical stones and their history.
Musician Polly McMillan will be playing four new compositions written especially for the instrument by local composers Ben Crick, Ben Gaunt, Flori Maunders and Heider Nasralla.
Bobbie Millar from Quarry Arts, Heather Millard from Cliffe Castle Museum and Alex Croft from Kala Sangam will be giving a short informal talk about the new compositions, the history of musical stones and their significance in the museum collection.
Tea and coffee will be provided in the learning room for event attendees. This event is free and there’s no need to book. Limited seating will be available.
If you would like to stay following the event, there will also be a new display opening in the glasshouses at Cliffe Castle from 4pm, click here for more details.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to ongoing works, we currently have limited access to the conservatory area, and some areas of the exterior may be cordoned off.
We can still offered level access via the conservatory, and we have identified alternative spaces for those who require the acccessible parking areas – please contact us for additional information.
