About this event

12 October 2024 – 31 December 2024
Bolling Hall Community Library

Count Me In 123 number bags are a fun way for parents and carers to encourage young children to learn about numbers, colours and shapes.

Sponsored by the Yorkshire Bank and are available for free loan from Bolling Hall Community Library, in the museum.

The sacks are aimed at pre-school age children but may be appropriate for older children too.

Each bag contains a good quality picture book, games and fun educational resources linked to the story or rhyme.

To borrow a Count Me In 123 bag, you need to be a member of the library. They are a free resource and can be borrowed for up to 2 weeks.

Please note the bags are not to be left with an unattended child.

Count Me In 1

Features the book One Little Duck by Dorling Kindersley.
Babies and Toddlers will enjoy this simple counting duck rhyme. Included in the sack are games, which involve a wooden pull along duck toy and counting the yellow plastic ducks on the pond.

Count Me in 2

Wobble Bear says Yellow by Ian Wybrow, illustrated by Caroline Jayne Church.
Toddlers will enjoy following the story of Wobble Bear as he gets ready for bed. They can help him match his toothbrushes with the toothpaste, look for the different patterns in his house and sort items from his house by colour.
There are some simple animal jigsaws too.

Count Me in 3

Oliver’s Vegetables by Vivian French, illustrated by Alison Bartlett.
Pre-school children will enjoy listening to the story of Oliver who won’t eat anything but chips – that is until he helps his grandpa in the garden. Help Oliver count the vegetables in Grandpa’s garden and search for the bugs on the leaves with the big magnifying glass and chop up the wooden vegetables into bits ready to cook for dinner.
